A large tract of land along Robert B. Lee Drive in Leesburg will soon be the home of many new houses and future retail space.
After months of land clearing and preparation, construction crews are grading and setting up the land for drainage and eventual construction of this brand new subdivision, called 32 Crossing.
The primary entrance to the subdivision will be from Robert B. Lee Drive, across from Peach Ave. in Leesburg,
Work crews can be seen using excavators and earth movers for current work, while large concrete drainage pipes and vinyl connectors and pieces are on site and ready to be placed in the ground.

Map renders show a sprawling neighborhood with over 100 projected homes, along with some mixed use buildings and retail space along the entrance on Robert B. Lee Drive.
The visible construction comes after the city and developers won grant approval for a housing development that would allow for new homes to be built with a cost cap.
This means the maximum home price in this subdivision for new construction will only be allowed to reach a certain limit. This also means the homes built will only reach a certain square footage in size, along with other limits.

All new homes in the subdivision must meet or exceed all city, county, and state code requirements to be built.
Overall, the new subdivision in Leesburg presents a visibly powerful opportunity for residents and growth, while city leaders tell 229 Life they hope this will be one more thing to showcase what Leesburg is today, and what the city can be in the future.
