Farmer, Field and Animals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
For the first mural on this journey we\u2019re traveling straight into the heart of Downtown Albany. Located on the corner of Jefferson St. and Oglethorpe Ave. an unassuming white building is transformed into art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Painted across three different planes of view, the mural captures a South Georgia farming landscape. The work features bold sunset hues of orange and purple, gracing figures of two farmers, two mules, and rows upon rows of vegetation. The plants in the painting resemble rows of recently planted corn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Georgia is no stranger to agriculture, with many farms across the region making up the state\u2019s part of what is known as the Sun Belt. Other murals across the region pay homage to the area\u2019s agricultural roots and farming presence, but this one is Downtown Albany\u2019s main feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next mural in this list is one of the most recent large art completions made in the city. Located in Northwest Albany, a massive collection of butterflies rest on the side of the Bottoms Up shopping center building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Painted with different varieties across a white background, the mural captures definitive details of the beautiful silent flying creatures. A total of 16 individual butterflies make up the massive piece of art. The familiar orange colors of the Monarch butterfly are immediately noticeable, along with bold and bright colors from nearly every other shade of the spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The title of this mural is \u201cSmall Things\u201d by Christopher Johnson. It was completed in 2020. You can find the work at 719 N Westover Blvd, Albany, GA 31707.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curious Characters in the Woods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The next mural on our list is back toward Downtown Albany, but not quite. Located in north central Albany, near Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, a large mural stands in front of an open grass lawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Painted across the street-facing side of the building is a mural of characters sitting and standing in a setting of woods, with a single road going through the middle of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scene of woods and the characters in it is lush with bright and deep shades of green. The characters of the mural are all wearing outfits similar to a jester\u2019s costume, but without the hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful Birds and Good Life City Vibes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The last mural on this list is also the brightest piece of art covered here. Right in the middle of Albany, just off Slappey Blvd is a massive mural. It captures the nature of local cranes that live across the region and highlights what makes Albany, the Good Life City that it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Located on the side of the Aspire building, four larger-than-life cranes grace the South wall against a blue background. Each crane consists of delicate detail and is adorned with different pieces of Albany history and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Popular phrases like \u201cThe Good Life City\u201d detail the inside of each crane. Another showcases the phrase \u201cSemper Fi,\u201d referencing Albany\u2019s Marine Corps Logistics Base. Others show more playful phrases like \u201cThe Benny.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
