The Windsor Hotel in Americus
Built in the 1800s, the Windsor is a five-story Victorian hotel located in the heart of downtown Americus, GA. It was built in 1892 to attract winter visitors from the north. For nearly 80 years, the hotel was a 100 room establishment.

The hotel closed its doors in 1972. But then in 1991, the hotel reopened independently under new owners and a $6.5 million renovation.
Later in 2010, The Windsor underwent another extensive renovation and reopened as a Best Western brand hotel, updated with modern amenities like a fitness and business center, new bedding, and upgraded rooms.

The Best Western Plus Windsor Hotel now has 53 guest rooms including 6 suites and two tower suites.
It was designed by Swedish architect Gottfried L. Norman with a tower and turret, balconies, and a three story open atrium lobby.
An icon of Americus, the hotel is no stranger to celebrities, hosting Al Capone, Charles Lindberg, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter, and Conan O’Brien through the years.
